Going to bird Whittemore in Woodbury, I think, today.  But here's a mourning dove in yard this morning.

Woodpecker Holes
Heard more birds than I saw at Whittemore but species heard/seen: pine warbler, robin, goldfinch, chickadee, yellow-bellied sapsucker, Canada goose, mallard, ringed-neck duck, downy woodpecker, and barred owl.

Dunn's Beach - RI

Nice day at the beach.  Saw herring gulls, 2 dead Canada geese (not sure how), common loon, and washed up sea urchins!

Magic Wing Butterfly Conservatory - Deerfield, MA

Although these are not native to Connecticut, let alone North America
, they were nice to look at any ways.

New Blog

Okay.  So I've tried keeping a blog about birds a few times and I get started well but then things get busy and the blogs are forgotten.

So I figure instead of trying to write about trips or hikes and include pictures, why not just post pictures and if I get time to write then I'll write.

What better time to start this new blog than now - spring is here, migrants will start arriving, butterflies will begin to appear, and other animals will be doing their thing too!

And so let the blog begin!
